Shingo is a shy individual with a habitual stutter that he seem to be unable to control. The boy has been regarded by teachers for his intelligence, but the opinions from his peers are a different matter.
Shingo was an easy target for bullying as he was poor, smart, and offered little resistance from those pushing him around.
He has low-self esteem, only pushing himself forward because others believe him to bound for success.
Shingo himself seems to lack value in himself, but does not wish to disappoint what few people do believe in him.

Shingo comes from a low-income home where he was taught education matters most.
He formerly attended a school where he was subjected to bullying by his peers
​Currently, due to the recommendation of his school and urgency of his family, he attends Kazuri High.
