Personality
Overly-optimistic and strong-willed would be the choice words used to describe this girl. Mai can be seen as bubbly, sociable, and carrying a strong sense of justice. She believes in doing what's right and helping those who are in need. While she is blind to how dark the world can truly be, she does understand that it is not perfect. Knowing that there is a considerable amount of bad in the world, she seeks to be as good as she can be and leave a positive impression onto others.
As a consequence of her cartoonish nature, most are quick to judge her and believe it is the cause of middle syndrome.
This is not the case and the only individual who seems to properly understand her is her rival-companion, Kado Seto Endo.

Biography
Mai was born in Little Souen, a city in the neighboring continent Aels. She has 1/16th erroneous DNA, and as a result has been labeled an ERROR. For Mai, this 'disease' has manifested itself through her cognition. She is unable to fully comprehend such concepts as death and adult themes.

​ It is most accurate to say that she views the world through the lens of a child's cartoon as it makes the most sense to her. Swears, blood, death, and sexual themes escapes her understanding, being forcibly censored by her brain.
On account of most of the world viewing those with erroneous DNA as a problematic anomaly, she was the subject of bullying.
Still doing her best to stay happy, she would not find her confidant until middle-school.
It was there that she met a local bully and future friend, Kado Seto Endo.
